Hackathon ‘Learning from Tomorrow’: Designing Utrecht’s Future Agricultural Landscape

Dirk Wascher is the Founder and Director of SUSMETRO (Sustainable Design for Metropolitan Landscapes), a planning and research agency for developing Sustainable Design for Metropolitan Landscapes at the interface of nature and society. Based on the principle of circular economy and transition management, SUSMETRO offers assessment tools, data management and innovative design solutions for a more sustainable food system at the level of metropolitan regions.

Dirk provides expertise in landscape assessment, metropolitan food planning, sustainability impact tools, and knowledge transfer. He is known for developing practical methodologies and decision-support systems that help governments, businesses, and communities create more sustainable and self-reliant regions.

On Wednesday, June 3rd, from 15:00-17:00 at Innovation Square 2 in VIV Hall 10, Dirk Wascher and Common Source, in collaboration with Jacob van den Borne, CLEVERFOOD and EU4Advice, will host the ‘Learning from Tomorrow’ hackathon, to support a live, collaborative design session that will envision the future regenerative agricultural landscape of the Utrecht Metropolitan Region.
