Henk Kieft: Quantum Biology Worldview and its relevance for animals, plants and food
Henk Kieft is an independent Dutch researcher and author known for his work on Quantum Biology Worldview and quantum-informed agriculture. Trained at Wageningen University & Research, he explores how emerging insights from quantum physics, biology, information theory, and consciousness studies may reshape humanity’s understanding of nature and life. Henk is Director of GaiaCampus and also an active member of Community Vital Food, a vibrant network and living organism of passionate people working towards a vital, life-force-rich food system.
Kieft is best known for developing an integrative worldview in which reality is understood not only through matter and mechanics, but also through energy, information, and interconnected patterns. In books such as Quantum Leaps in Agriculture, he argues that agriculture and ecology can benefit from approaches that recognize coherence, resonance, and systemic relationships within living ecosystems.
Henk Kieft:
“Modern agriculture is based on what we learn at school and what we pick up from colleagues and advisors. These techniques assume that reality consists of particles. Quantum agriculture, in particular, sheds light on various techniques that we barely understand yet. Consider techniques using electromagnetic waves, which work with vibrations of all kinds of frequencies. Also consider methods that work with human consciousness and with its intuitive connection to animals, plants, and soil—that is to say, to nature.”
“At first glance, these might seem like strange techniques, but in practice, it turns out that these techniques can increase yields by tens of percent, that inputs are utilised more efficiently, and that the quality and shelf life of food improve.”
His work combines scientific literature, philosophical reflection, and practical sustainability themes. While some of his ideas extend beyond mainstream scientific consensus, Kieft has contributed to broader discussions about post-materialist science, ecological innovation, and holistic approaches to biology and agriculture.
Workshop ‘Quantum Biology Worldview and its relevance for understanding vitality of animals, plants and food’
Henk Kieft introduces us to some major principles of Quantum physics, applicable in biology, hence in farming and gardening. The (measurable) degrees of internal coherence and order in food enable us to determine the vitality of food.
